Fringe Festival Preview

Established in 2005, the Kansas City Fringe Festival has grown into a 10-day celebration of theater, visual arts, film, dance, and music. This year’s edition runs from Thursday, July 18, through Sunday, July 28, 2013, at dozens of venues around the city. You can get an advance look at what’s in store for festival audiences at the Fringe Festival Preview.

This special preview features some of the festival’s hottest acts:

  • Excerpts from A Divine Intervention, SahjKaya’s reggae musical about a near-death experience.
  • Poetic Underground… spoken-word poetry meets performance art with hosts Miss Conception, William Peck, and Doug Rosenbrook.
  • An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein presented by Heidi Van and members of the Fishtank.
  • Immigrant Voices, a work based on interviews with new arrivals to the United States, performed by the Westport Center for the Arts.
  • Comedy by Right Between the Ears, Kansas City and Lawrence’s award-winning radio (and live performance) sketch show.

Refreshments provided by Minsky’s Pizza.
