A Tony Award winner for his Titanic and Nine musical compositions, Maury Yeston performs at the piano and discusses his latest work, Tom Sawyer – A Ballet in Three Acts, commissioned by Kansas City Ballet. Based on the classic Mark Twain novel, the ballet will make its world premiere in October 2011 as part of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts’ grand opening.
Yeston will be joined by the Ballet’s artistic director William Whitener, internationally acclaimed costume designer Holly Hynes, and assistant choreographer Shelley Freydont.
