The Kansas City Public Library welcomes Michael Perry for a presentation based on his book Coop: A Year of Poultry, Pigs, and Parenting on Tuesday, June 9, at 7 p.m. at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St.
A bestselling author of humorous memoirs, Perry returns with his off-kilter take on life in the country with two pigs, a dozen chickens – and a pregnant wife who is due any minute. Coop is filled with the humor that readers have come to expect. But Perry also writes from the quieter corners of his heart, chronicling experiences as joyful as the birth of his child and as devastating as the death of a dear friend.
Perry’s other works include Population 485: Meeting Your Neighbors One Siren at a Time and Truck: A Love Story.
Copies of Coop will be available for sale, and the author will sign copies during the event.
