A Community Conversation on Education

The Midwest Democracy Project hosts a forum exploring the question: What is the 21st century mission of our public schools? Participants will work in small groups led by trained facilitators, then join a larger concluding discussion to share ideas. Participants will consider how to prepare students to be successful in the workplace; how to prepare them to be active and responsible citizens; and how to help them discover and develop their talents.

The Midwest Democracy Project is a joint initiative of the Kansas State University Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy, the University of Kansas William Allen White School of Journalism, the University of Missouri Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute, and The Kansas City Star
