Science: Lava Lamps

The funky fixture known as the lava lamp dates to the 1960s and is still popular today with its colorful blobs floating in a glass vessel. A few scientific principles are at work, including density and polarity. Learn more about the science behind lava lamps and make one to take home. Recommended for ages 3 and up.
