An Evening with Abdul Alkalimat

Professor Abdul Alkalimat, the leading African American scholar on the digital divide, will discuss Malcolm X, African Americans & the Cyberspace Revolution. An expert on the digital divide and the African American experience in cyberspace, Alkalimat is professor at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) at the University of Illinois. Alkalimat was most recently a professor of sociology and director of the Africana Studies program at the University of Toledo. He moderates the largest African-American Studies discussion list, H-Afro-Am, and created and edits Malcolm X: A Research Site as well as eBlack Studies He is athe author of The African American Experience In Cyberspace: A Resource Guide to the Best Web Sites on Black Culture & History,Black Power in Chicago: Harold Washington and the Crisis of the Black Middle Class : Mass Protest, and Malcolm X for Beginners.
