Representation Matters: Celebrating Diversity in Children’s Books

When children see characters in books who look like them or come from similar backgrounds, they feel seen and heard. Join the Kid Corner staff and members of UMKC’s Pride Alliance for mini-storytimes with some of our favorite picture books celebrating diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, and ability.

Recommended for ages 3 and up.

If you need ADA accommodation to use Library services or attend Library events and programs, please notify us at least 3 business days in advance at 816.701.3409 or ADA@kclibrary.org. (TTY access available via 711 or 866.520.7309 for Spanish.)
