A Public Conversation with SuEllen Fried

At 83, SuEllen Fried’s social conscience has scarcely ebbed. The Prairie Village native – one of former President George H.W. Bush's Points of Light – continues to visit prisoners across Kansas as part of the Reaching Out from Within self-help program she co-founded. She also founded the Kansas Committee for the Prevention of Child Abuse as the model chapter for what is now Prevent Child Abuse America. In the latest installment of the Library’s Kansas City: Cradle of Entrepreneurs series, Fried sits down with Library Director Crosby Kemper III to discuss her work and the importance of entrepreneurship in the nonprofit sector. The event also marks the start of Women’s History Month. The series is made possible by generous contributions from the Regnier Family Foundation and Bank of Blue Valley.
