Program:
2:00 pm
When Sidney and S. Herbert Hare founded their father-and-son firm in 1910, they launched what would become the most influential landscape architecture and planning practice in the Midwest. Hare & Hare contributed to the development and planning of Kansas City’s parks and boulevards and Country Club District, and earned a national reputation for designing city and state parks, college campuses, and cemeteries.

In their new book Hare & Hare, Landscape Architects and City Planners, authors Carol Grove and Cydney Millstein document the achievements of the firm and its role in the growth of landscape architecture in the U.S. They discuss their research with former Kansas City council member Jan Marcason, a consultant with the Olsson Studio.
