(Kansas City, Mo.) – The Kansas City Public Library’s Waldo Branch (201 E. 75th St.) will close until further notice, after learning a staff member was in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

That staff member most recently worked December 9, 14, and 15.

While exposure risks are minimized by the Library’s health and safety protocols, including mask and social distancing requirements, visitors to the Waldo Branch during that time period are being contacted.

All other branch employees also have been alerted, and a cleaning crew will sanitize the space. The Waldo Branch will reopen once the Library can complete contact tracing, complete the cleaning, and ensure adequate staffing.

Kids Café services are also suspended at the branch but will remain available at the Bluford Branch. The Library will continue to offer Wi-Fi for free outside all its locations, including the Waldo Branch parking lot.
