The 2019 Veterans Writing Workshops are designed to help veterans, active military, and their family members develop the writing and narrative skills that can empower them to tell their stories, whether they be true-life accounts or wholly original tales. For many veterans, having a safe and creative outlet to share their thoughts and experiences or explore their original ideas can be rewarding and enriching.

SESSION 5: Program Wrap-Up

In Session 5, participants will critique one another’s drafts and prepare for a free, public Veterans Readers Theater, which will debut an original script of these writings. The Theater, in its second year, will help develop creative capabilities in support of military veterans and their families. Writings will focus on military experiences and be woven together into one production. Workshop participants will be highly encouraged to perform, or request that their work is included. For vets needing extra help, one-on-one mentoring will be offered with college-level instructors to finalize their work
