The 2018 Veterans Writing Workshops are designed to help veterans, active military, and their family members develop the writing and narrative skills that can empower them to tell their stories, whether they be true-life accounts or wholly original tales. For many veterans, having a safe and creative outlet to share their thoughts and experiences or explore their original ideas can be rewarding and enriching.
SESSION 1: WRITING THROUGH INJURY
In conjunction with our public panel discussion The Invisible Wounds of War: Writing Through Injury, Guggenheim Fellow and Iraq Vet Brian Turner will lead a session on writing about life experiences, featuring readings and writing prompts. Participants are encouraged to attend the earlier, public portion of the day, then join Brian for lunch and the remainder of the session.
Lunch will be provided (this session only).
