Learn how to successfully grow food for a family of four on 1,000 square feet, followed by a live food demonstration (and some taste testing) using vegetables from the family garden.
KC Master Gardener James Koch will explain how he and his team have been able to grow and harvest vegetables for a family of four from a 1,000 square-foot plot at the Kansas City Community Gardens demonstration garden.
Monica Miller, Nutrition Program Associate for the University of Missouri Extension Urban West, will then make two recipes using vegetables from the garden while showing how quickly and easily the dishes can be prepared at home for a family meal.
Admission is FREE.
