They range from Spike Lee’s freewheeling account of an African American cop who infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan (co-written by the University of Kansas’ Kevin Willmott) to the smash adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s best-selling book about the internal struggles of an affluent—“crazy rich”—Singaporean family.
