Family Video Vault: 'Turning Red'
Meilin Lee (Rosalie Chiang) is a typical teen on the cusp of adulthood growing up in Toronto in 2002. She loves her friends, does well in school, and geeks out over boy bands, and has an unshakably close relationship with her mother (Sandra Oh) who owns and operates a historical temple honoring their Chinese lineage. Her life is practically perfect, until one day she wakes up in the body of a giant red panda. Director Domee Shi makes her theatrical début as Pixar's first female director, weaving a heartwarming, bombastic, anime-inspired, unique coming of age comedy.
