Community Connections

Community Connections

The Library is here to help you make important “face-to-face” connections virtually in our single-person Community Connections Rooms. You can use a Community Connections Room to attend a virtual job interview, make a telehealth appointment, join a Zoom study group, or video-chat with family members. A webcam-enabled computer is available for you to use with your Library card for the duration of your appointment.

For your safety, only one person is allowed in a Community Connections Room at a time.

Note that this service is currently offered only at the Library locations listed below.

Service Guidelines

Availability is limited to specific times at each Library location. You must sign up in advance to reserve your spot. Patrons are limited to one appointment per day to accommodate as many people as we safely can in our locations.

We require all patrons over the age of two to wear a mask, covering both mouth and nose, while in the library. We also require individuals to adhere to social distancing, remaining at least 6 feet apart. If you need to interact with staff, please stand in front of the plexiglass dividers.

Arrive at the Library no more than 15 minutes before or 15 minutes later than your scheduled start time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we will be unable to accommodate you and you'll need to make a new reservation.

How It Works

When you arrive, tell Library staff that you have a scheduled appointment for a Community Connections Room. You will be directed to a study room with a webcam-equipped computer. Again, please practice social distancing by remaining 6 feet from others. You'll have until the end of your appointed block of time to complete your meeting. To allow time for cleaning after each use, scheduled sessions cannot be extended. Staff will let you know when your time is ending. After you are finished using the Room, please collect your belongings and exit the Library through the main entrance.
