Press Here by Herve Tullet

If you are looking for an engaging, interactive picture book to read with your child at bedtime or during a story time setting, then check out Press Here, by French author and illustrator Herve Tullet.

What’s captivating about Press Here is its simple use of imagination. It has no plot line or characters, but manages to mesmerize children with “magical dots” which do amazing things with the help of the reader. Even better, while the kids are busy laughing and enjoying the book, they are unknowingly practicing colors, counting and following simple directions.

The real payoff for children reading this book is instant gratification. The book is fast-moving and and so interactive that kids don’t get bored with it. They also tend to read it again and again with the same enthusiasm they had when they read it the first time.

Press Here is best suited for kids in the 3-7 age range and is a good choice for children who have a hard time sitting still and paying attention during reading activities. It also makes a great gift for nieces, nephews or grandchildren. Just know that if you give it out as gifts, you better be prepared to read it too - over and over again!
