What makes a library a transformative presence in communities? As this year's National Library Week draws to a close, we're taking a moment to recognize the many ways the Library — and specifically, our staff — strive to support and serve our city and its people.

This year’s theme, Connect With Your Library, underscores the role of libraries – here in Kansas City and nationwide – in connecting individuals, families, and entire communities to an array of crucial resources, from internet access and digital devices to programs, classes, and of course books.
