The Library's Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St. will restore Pop In/Pick Up holds service on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.  The location was temporarily closed on January 8 after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. The building has been sanitized, and the Library has conducted contact tracing.

The Library's Southeast Branch, 6242 Swope Parkway, will restore Pop In/Pick Up service on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. This will provides patrons with an opportunity to retrieve available holds at this location before the  Library’s systemwide holiday closures begins on December 24. The location was temporarily closed December 12 after a likely exposure to COVID-19 tied to a visit by a patron. The building has been sanitized, and the Library has conducted contact tracing.

If you've been participating in the Library's 2020 Summer Reading Program, LIVE THE FANTASTIC, and you were racing to finish your books before the deadline, we've got great news for you: the Library just added another month's worth of bookish bandwith, giving you extra time to read, record your books, and earn prizes! We know everyone has a lot going on this summer (to put it mildly), so we've extended our Summer Reading program through August 31, 2020.

Swope Health will offer testing for the coronavirus (COVID-19) at the Library's Trails West Branch on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Appointments are not needed, and both drive-throughs and walk-ups will be accommodated.

Trails West Branch (11401 East 23rd Street Independence, MO) is closing until further notice after learning a staff member was likely exposed to  COVID-19. That staff member last worked Saturday, December 5, 2020. While exposure risks are minimized by the Library’s health and safety protocols, including mask and social distancing requirements, all visitors to the Trails West Branch during that time period are being contacted.

Waldo Branch (201 East 75th Street, Kansas City, MO 64114) is closing until further notice after learning a staff member was likely exposed to COVID-19. That staff member most recently worked December 9, 14, and 15.
