Book Discussion
The Library and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation present a series of online community conversations centered around the book Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in School, by award-winning author and social justice scholar Dr. Monique W. Morris. Pushout explores the societal and educational disparities faced by Black girls and other girls of color. The public is invited to take part in one of a series of online book discussions scheduled throughout August; free copies of the book are available through the Library. Towards the end of the month, Dr. Morris joins the Library for an online presentation. Learn more on how to take part.
The Library and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation present a series of online community conversations centered around the book The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together, by Heather McGhee, chair of the board of Color for Change, the country’s largest online racial justice organization. The public is invited to take part in one of the online book discussions scheduled throughout October. Towards the end of the month, Heather McGhee joins the Library for an online presentation.
