The Library again provides a perfect family-friendly starting point for your First Friday outing, offering exhibits, live music, kids’ activities, and munchies.

The Rocky and Gabriella Mountain Gallery on the second floor offers a preview of Here Where You Wish, a multisensory exhibit created by Kansas City’s Ryan Wilks in collaboration with fellow artist Ari Fish. Visitors navigate a labyrinth of sheer, flowing fabric that leads to a public altar, where they are encouraged to leave an object of personal significance and write down a wish. It invites us to believe, if just for a second, that what we most desire can and will come true if we are bold enough to confide it.

Interrelated music is performed by Tim J. Harte.

Younger attendees can enjoy arts and crafts and a special 6 p.m. story time.
