The Kansas City Public Library (KCPL) is looking to hire a Digital Branch Librarian. This Librarian is the primary point of contact for staff and patrons of KCPL for issues relating to the Library’s suite of digital tools, with emphasis on the primary website, staff intranet and the online catalog. This person facilitates staff engagement with digital properties by managing user accounts, establishing workflows, creating documentation and delivering training. The successful candidate will report to the Digital Branch Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: Required: 3 years of relevant library experience or Master’s degree in Library Science, Information or related field. Familiarity with digital tools used in public libraries such as research databases, e-content services and online learning platforms. Knowledge of HTML/CSS. Strong written and oral communication. Customer service experience. Preferred: Experience working at a service desk of a public library. Experience providing technical support in an organizational environment. Public speaking and/or teaching experience. Experience in multimedia production.
