During this high-energy, interactive performance, children are invited to join a musical safari where they meet different animals whose names are set to rhythm. After meeting the animals, each child is given a percussion instrument and the jungle jam begins! As the rhythms of the animals lock together, an exciting sense of community begins to develop. This program includes interactive songs, dancing, and, of course, DRUMMING! All ages.

Get fit fast with walking routines modeled after Leslie Sansone walking DVDs.
This is an extension of the Walk On 1 class. Participants will follow a 2 mile walking workout that builds strength, endurance and flexibility, while boosting energy levels and super-charging your upper and lower body. This class is free and open to the public.

SOIL SOLUTIONS - A Two-Part Workshop For Curious and Determined Gardeners

Great gardens start with healthy soil. Find out everything you need to know about organically caring for your soil in this informative workshop. We will cover the following topics over two days:

June 20: soil organisms and structure, testing and amendments
June 27: soil fertility, pH, micro/macro-nutrients and organic fertilizers

Hilary Noonan, landscape designer with Syntax Land Design, LLC will be the presenter. Hilary specializes in liquid biological amendments for soil health and creating designs that are regenerative by managing healthy soil and mineralization with mostly native plants.

Admission is FREE. You may attend one or both sessions.

The Library and KCPT-Kansas City PBS begin a search for solutions in the second installment of a series examining eviction in the city. The event begins with a screening of Evicted, a documentary examining the issue and how it's tackled elsewhere. A panel including Councilman Quinton Lucas then discusses how it can be addressed in KC. Co-presented by the Black Community Fund and KCPT-Kansas City PBS.
