Are you a teenager who loves to read and has questions about sex, relationships, your body, and more? Come join us for a new book group, Sex Talk and Books, at the Plaza Library. This session we are reading “Let’s Talk About Love” by Claire Kann. This book is about a teen who is learning what her asexuality means not only to her but to those she is in relationships with. This group will meet weekly for eight weeks to discuss the interesting lives of these characters and to learn more about sexuality and the many complex relationships we have in our lives. Each participant will receive a free book and journal. Dinner and snacks will be provided.
Don't worry about the weather. Come walk a mile in the comfort of air conditioning. Participants will follow a walking routine that is modeled after the Leslie Sansone walking DVDs. This class is a gentle paced 1 mile beginner walk program. Participants will increase their heart rate with low impact moves no matter what the weather is like outside.

In this 6 week program, we’ll be learning all about the different jobs of an illustrator and make some amazing art along the way! From story-boarding to book illustration, you will get hands-on experience learning different types of visual storytelling and illustration forms. Kids ages 8-14
Week 1 Story-boarding: We will learn the basics of story-boarding for animation and graphic novels and discuss plot & storytelling.
Week 2 Character Design: Design a character and sidekick based on their setting, personality, and plot.
Week 3 Background Design: Learn to create a background that fits the atmosphere and lore of a story.
Week 4 Picture Book Illustration: Learn to illustrate a story by balancing text and image.
Week 5 Freelance (Free Choice): Visual storytelling illustration of choice: Comic strip, character design, book illustration, storyboard
Week 6 Portfolio Design: In the final week, we will bind our finished work into a portfolio and decorate the covers.

It appears to be the find of a lifetime. Shakespeareans worldwide were electrified earlier this year by the announced discovery of a previously unknown source—or inspiration—for many of the works of William Shakespeare. Researcher Dennis McCarthy and colleague June Schlueter made the case that the Bard drew repeatedly from a manuscript written in the late 1500s by a courtier of Elizabeth I. Using plagiarism-detecting software, they identified unique storylines and ideas in both the earlier document and Shakespeare’s works.
