Tuesday, September 25, 2018 is National Voter Registration Day and all of our Kansas City Public Library locations are ready to register you to vote.

Your local elections are important, and being able to vote is the best way to participate.

On Sept. 25, visit any of our  locations and staff can register voters in one of two ways:

1. Library staff can provide a voter registration card for you to fill out and mail.
2. Trained registrars at Library locations can register people immediately in-person.

But, we are also happy to register you to vote or update your voter registration at any of our locations on ANY day we’re open.

You can register to vote if:

• You'll be 18 by the time of the next election
• You're a US citizen
• You're a Missouri resident (Sorry, we are unable to register residents from other states)

You need to re-register to vote if:

• you move
• you change your name
• complete a felony sentence

There are 3 ways to register or re-register to vote:

1. In person with a Voter Registrar at any KCPL location (recommend to call in advance to confirm Registrar is available).
   • This registers you immediately.
2. Mail a postcard. All KCPL locations have postcards that you can mail yourself.
3. Register to vote online in Missouri. Fill out a registration form online, then print and mail it in.

You must provide proof of identification to register to vote.

To register with the affidavit, you do need to bring one of the following:

• Driver’s license (any state)
• Passport
• Military ID
• Voter registration card
• ID from MO university/college/vocational/technical school
• Utility bill (most current cycle/bill)
• Bank statement (most current cycle/bill)
